Tomorrow starts OctPoWriMo!
Don’t know what that is? It’s okay. You aren’t alone. I just found out about it this year.
I feel completely out of the loop.
But for those of you that are familiar with NaNoWriMo (National Novel Writing Month), this is sort-of the same thing, except for poets.
Which means it’s even more awesome. At least, I think so.
So this week, we’re going to get into the spirit of OctPoWriMo, where you’ll be setting a goal to post a poem a day for the entire 31 days of October.
We’re not asking you to write 31 poems for us, though. No, we want you to write us a 31 line poem. No more. No less. You’ve got 31 lines to say whatever you want!
So there’s your prompt. By next Friday. 31 lines. Go!
And there is still time to get info for OctPoWriMo. We won’t officially challenge you, but pretend we did. You can do it!
The Reverie 
So wait a minute… 31 lines or 31 words? And it has to be each single day for 31 days?

If you’d like to write a poem every day for the whole month of October, you can check out OctPoWriMo and that challenge. The prompt for us though is one poem – 31 lines in length.

Nope. You can write on any topic you’d like. The prompt is to only use 31 lines.

Mine is probably a bit sappy. I started out writing about turning 31, and ended up going on about my family and my admissibly tooth-rottingly sweet relationship with my husband. I may have drawn the short straw in the looks department, but somehow I ended up with a prince anyway!
