Today in the U.S. is Memorial Day. It’s a day where we honor our fallen soldiers and on the last Monday in May.
This week’s writing prompt is inspired by today. The theme is “Say Goodbye.” It doesn’t need to be about a soldier, just a goodbye to someone whether real or imagined.
Make sure share it in the comments so we can all bask in your words.
Check out what each is doing and share! Let’s build this community. All links will be added to this year’s digest.

Fourteen (For Katrina)
In December I thought
about you
about the things we’d done
about the things we
never said
or the things we
should have.
I tried to recall how we came
to be here,
but couldn’t, and breathed
the question to you.
When I turned to look,
you had gone and left me there
to wonder.
