On Friday’s Let’s Talk About It… conversation, it would seem that most of us write about things that are darker, sadder, angrier, etc. Let’s try to stretch ourselves and write about something outside of the norm. A happy moment, a memory, a thought, whatever your inspiration, let the poem have a positive rather than negative spin.
Sorry this one is coming a day late. I’ve been visiting family and friends, so it’s been hard to stick to my schedule. The rest of the week will be on point.
Make sure share it in the comments so we can all bask in your words.
Check out what each is doing and share! Let’s build this community. All links will be added to this year’s digest.

The strawberry moon is rising
The strawberry moon is rising
In crème brulee the quill writes the hereby tale
The strawberry moon is rising
For a dame blanche is the poem as I raise a cup of ale
The strawberry moon is rising
In burlesque its pink pulp exposes
The strawberry moon is rising
In a land where grow the kinky roses
The strawberry moon is rising
An the chocolate rivers flow wild
The strawberry moon is rising
Coconut flakes fall tender and mild
The strawberry moon is rising
As the tiramisu volcanoes erupt in milky laces
The strawberry moon is rising
And candy bar trees blossom with marshmallow apples
The strawberry moon is rising
The gingerbread ladies play poker for a rum ball
The strawberry moon is rising
Ice cream and ethereal jiggles await all
The strawberry moon is rising
Éclair vehicles are secluded in textures
The strawberry moon is rising
Mille-feuilles are ending the sweet adventures
The strawberry moon is rising
Cause fortune cookies tell never a lie
The strawberry moon is rising
The rose goes away now to devour pudding and pie

Fantastic Vlad – I must applaud you on the interesting title, which already takes a romantic object (the moon) and makes the concept even more so. I also enjoyed how you interweaved all of the food and dessert metaphors making it a feast for the eyes and the mind – well done Sir 🙂
