Next Sunday is Father’s Day in the United States. Let’s talk about some father/daughter, father/son relationships. They can be as dysfunctional as you want or not at all. Memories of two characters, memories of your own, a pretend or real scenario, a sketch of the father you’d like to be one day, of the father you are…the list goes on. Let your imagination be your guide. I’m so interested in seeing what you guys come up with!
Make sure share it in the comments so we can all bask in your words.
Check out what each is doing and share! Let’s build this community. All links will be added to this year’s digest.

The last rambling words of a father
My son, do not despond!
These are your ages!
None to a second,
While chaos is young and still emerges…
Be kind to respond
To what chronicled the sages!
Under rusted dawn’s bond
Golden witchcraft rages –
The raven’s wings abscond
His mortal wreckages;
Resurrect with the emerald diamond,
And cast them in chimeric cages…
To entrap in laces of beyond
Seek the muffin god! To her do the pledges!
Awaken the soul’s immortal vagabond
Wielding a tainted quill from the mages…

Oh yes, I have a couple of posts I’ve done on Daddy issues. Just posted this one:

This next one I did quite some time ago. Thought I’d post it because of the theme:

To put this in the perspective of the fictional pop culture world I will say this. Atticus Finch: God father. Stannis Baratheon: Bad father. That’s all I got.

Yeah that was supposed to be Atticus Finch GOOD father. (Not God Father.) Erg.

With this prompt I realized I’ve written very little about my father so I had to write a poem. Thanks for the nudge.
