Compassion | #1000Speak Poetry Prompt

Compassion

Hey poets!

This month, we’re going to link up with #1000Speak for Compassion. I think we’ve done this once before. #1000Speak is a group of bloggers, vloggers, and folks in general who want to spread a little positivity and light throughout the interwebs. Everything is so negative and I certain fall into that category at times.

My challenge to you is to write a poem about compassion. It can be in any way, about anyone or thing. Be creative, be beautiful. Grab my heart and wring it out. Bring a sigh to my lips. Fill me with quiet happiness and peace.

I would love if everyone reading this would participate. If you feel so inclined, you can add your post to the linkup here.

If you don’t want to add to the #1000 Speak link-up, you don’t have to. You can do the usual: Either post your link in the comments or backlink your post to this one.

Either way, I want to read your words!

  1. […] a feeling of deep sympathy and sorrow for another who is stricken by misfortune, accompanied by a strong desire to alleviate the suffering How to feel compassionate for a stranger’s pain that isn’t our own is not an easy question.  Rushing through our days, we read an article, hear the latest news, and think to ourselves, “How tragic.” Meanwhile, the lost, damned, and jaded stay frozen in their lives. Fearing each new sunrise will bring with it more sorrow and for them no escape. They are just another headline waiting to happen.  The New Year brings new hell to some, happiness to others. Until we get our hands dirty, there can be no change and compassion isn’t enough. We keep moving as they stay frozen with no voice.  Donetta Sifford Written for #1,000 Speak Poetry Prompt &  The Reverie Journal […]
