A New Year, A New Look, A New Prompt, A New Issue

We’re talking all sorts of  new here.

It’s a brand new year. I’ll be scribbling out 2015 on all my paperwork for the next few weeks. I may even remember to write a ‘6’ at some point this month. I mean, the possibilities are endless.

The Reverie Journal got a new look (from Book Genesis). I guess it’s easier to improve the look of a website, versus improve the look of the numbers on my bathroom scale…-le sigh-

The Reverie Journal: Issue One Release Date

let's us on a little

This has been a long time coming, but we are so excited to announce the upcoming release of The Reverie Journal’s first issue – Available on Kindle October 9th!

That’s right. . .I said Kindle.

We struggled for some time trying to find the right outlet for our magazine. We wanted to showcase the amazing work submitted to us in the best possible way, and honesty, we just weren’t finding the right program to utilize.

So the magazine evolved and we decided to make this more of a book, allowing us the ability to truly customize it in the way we wanted and to offer all of you a beautiful, professional product.

In celebration of our first issue, you will be able to download the Kindle version for

FREE!

Also, for those that have asked, there will be a print edition available. For the poets featured in our magazine we will have a discount code for you to use for the print edition. This is just our way of saying thank you for all the hard work you put in and the patience you have shown while we worked out the kinks.

In the meantime, get ready to share with all your friends and family so we can make this launch a success!

This is Long Over-Due…

I’ve been away.

I’ve been neglecting all responsibilities not directly connected to the swirling chaos that has become my life.

The husband lost his job.

I was up to my eyebrows in edits for my book.

I was nine months pregnant.

So…I made this:

Capture

And then took a job and hid myself away with my family to fall madly in love with this little guy. I mean, can you blame me? Look at that face!

The point is, I abandoned ship and left Tamara (probably so stressed she was cursing me mercilessly) to take over. She’s done an amazing job. In fact, she’s managed so freaking well I made the decision to step back into more of an assistant role than an editor role.

All that info aside…what does this mean for you?

It means we are behind on the magazine and there will be big changes with it. If we’ve accepted pieces from you WE STILL TO FEATURE THEM! However, the idea of two magazines and an anthology are more than can be handled at the moment.

This project has evolved and changed and we are hoping you’ll hang in there with us. We’re working hard to give you a completed project you will be proud to showcase.

Stay tuned for more info in the following weeks!

Last Call for Magazine Submissions

We’ve been amazed at the turn out for our first edition of The Reverie Journal and are so excited to put together an amazing magazine for all of you.

A few things:

Tomorrow is the LAST POSSIBLE DAY you can submit to the magazine. Submissions will not open again until April for the Fall issue of our magazine. Please also keep in mind that this means any prompt winners will not be considered for the magazine until the new reading session has opened.

If you haven’t already, please sign up for our mailing list. We only send out mailings once a month, but this is how you will receive your free copy of the magazine!

Submissions are open for the Anthology with the theme: Back to Our Roots.

We are always looking for poets to feature for our Write for Us segment!

And finally, if you have submitted for the magazine and had your work accepted, please make sure your bio and author’s photograph are in to us by tomorrow. If you choose not to have one or either of these published with your work, that of course is fine.

A big thank you to all of you for all your hard work and support!

Setting the Standard

We have been featuring so much amazing work on Wednesdays! But we need more! Write for Us are super helpful submissions that let others know what kind of work we really admire.

You are setting the standard!

So if you’re interested in submitting to be featured on the site, please visit our Write for Us page!

And now we even have an awesome badge for our poets! If you’ve been featured on our site for the Write for Us segment, grab our badge below and show it off proudly!

Advertise With Us

Yeah, but why would I want to? You ask.

Because this blog and its collective editors have a social presence of over 18,000 followers.

18,000 and growing.

That means that our magazine is going to be available on blogs, in in-boxes, totally tweeted, flapping all over Facebook, tumbling across Tumblr, and even going where all social media dies…Google plus.

I kid.

Sorta.

But what do I get? You ask.

One. Full. Page. Ad.

Ten bucks.

Yes, you read that right.

For $10 you get a full page ad in our magazine.

All ads must be an image sized 794 x 1123 and in web quality resolution. If it’s blurry on your computer, it will be blurry on ours.

But I don’t want/know how/feel like/have time to design my own ad, you say.

We got you covered. For $15 you get your full page ad and we design it.

Because we love you.

And our editors are nut-balls who actually ENJOY this work. Weird…

You must have the right to use all images you provide us with for the creation of the ad. If you do not own the necessary rights, we cannot use the image. If you do not have any images for your ad, a very small charge may be added for the price of images.

So here are some of the awesome ads we’ve created to give you an idea what we can do for you. If you like what you see, fill in the form below and we’ll get in touch with you!

We will respond as soon as possible via email to discuss your advertisement. Thank you.
