Compassion | #1000Speak Poetry Prompt

Compassion

Hey poets!

This month, we’re going to link up with #1000Speak for Compassion. I think we’ve done this once before. #1000Speak is a group of bloggers, vloggers, and folks in general who want to spread a little positivity and light throughout the interwebs. Everything is so negative and I certain fall into that category at times.

Listening | Poetry Prompt

For the last prompt of the month, I bring to you the #1000Speak for compassion. This time the theme is “listening.” What does it really mean to listen? Has there been a time when you needed to be heard, but no one did? Have you listened to the voice inside your head and it steered you wrong? Did you listen to your mother’s advice and good things did happen? Was there a time when you were a trouble maker in school and one teacher helped you to listen and find your voice?

The prompt is as wide and free as your mind. Give me something tasty to chew on this week y’all. I need my brain teased. If you’d like, your poem can be added to the little zine that one of the members of #1000Speak for Compassion will be collating.

Be sure to share with us your poem either by linking back to this post or copying it directly into the comments. Can’t wait to read what you come up with.

Hope you have a great week and happy writing!

Acceptance | Poetry Prompt

Monday is the 20th which also means it’s time for 1000 Voices for Compassion. This is a group of bloggers, vloggers, writers, etc from all over the world who decided to come together and write about compassion. Trying to reach out and spread some positivity. It was only going to be a one time thing, but it’s grown into a monthly linkup. Each month has a different topic.

This month’s theme is “acceptance.” It can be of yourself, others, rules, society, changes, that’s all up to you. If you’d like to, you can write your piece and share it in the comments, or share the link.

If you’d like to add your part of the conversation to #1000 Speak as a whole, there’s a linkup on my blog. Certainly add to it and check out the pieces that people have shared.

Share with your friends and happy writing!

On nurturing

Hey everyone! Please accept my humblest apologies. Last week, I was juggling too many balls and I dropped this one. I suppose I took an unplanned hiatus. Now I’m back and let’s get to writing!

Today is the 20th, which meansthere’s another #1000Speak prompt. This month’s theme is “Nurturing.” You can write a poem on nurturing and link it back to here to share with us.If you’d like to share with the #1000Speak group, you can go to my post with the linkup here.

Make sure to write it and either share on this post or link back to this post so we can read what you wrote.

Check out what each is doing and share! Let’s build this community. All links will be added to this year’s digest.

Bullying | Poetry Prompt

So far this year, here’s the posts that have been written for the prompts. I’ll be gathering more as we move on in the year, so by the end of the year we’ll have an interesting digest of where we’ve been. This is totally separate from the magazine and anthology. It’s just an extra thing for fun.

Alright, moving along…

1000 Voices

On Friday, 1000 Voices for Compassion will be doing another roundup of posts on these internets. I thought it would be wonderful, if we’d write poetry about the main topic–which is “Building from Bullying.” But instead of just writing about a horribly hurtful bullying episode, let’s find compassion in the story-whether for the victim, the bully or both. Let the poem tell us more than we would expect. This does not have to be an instance of childhood bullying. It unfortunately happens at all ages.

Make sure to either backlink to the page or post it in the comments. Check out what each is doing and share! Let’s build this community. All links will be added to this year’s digest.

Remember on Fridays, we’re having a bit of a chat. If you didn’t catch last Friday’s swing by and join in about education and poetry.
