Submitting your work can be a nerve-wracking process, but keep your head up and remember that even the Greats received rejection letters. Please remember that when submitting your work to always read the submissions guidelines thoroughly. Remember that you can always submit to our Write for Us segment and that our magazine submissions are now open for the year.

Home Plant News is an independent publisher out of New York. Their triannual publication features mostly poetry, with some fiction and reviews as well.

While we at The Reverie accept many different styles and themes of poetry, some other publishers may not. Please keep this in mind when submitting your work and always read the submissions guidelines thoroughly. I know we must have some poets out there who enjoy writing children’s poetry. I’ve never been much good at it myself, but we at The Reverie want to share multiple opportunities with our poets for potential publication. Of course, we certainly hope you’ll still consider submitting with us for our Write for Us. Submissions for the magazine also just reopened.

I’m sure many of you already are familiar with the children’s magazine, Highlights.

HelloHorror accepts works of fiction, non-fiction, micro-fiction, poetry, photography, visual art and film. All entries must be in English. Translations are acceptable and should be accompanied by a copy of the original text. While we entertain most works associated with the genre, please keep in mind that our goal is to offer something new within the genre with a focus on the psychological aspects of horror.

Let us introduce you to The Helix, a student-run journal featuring work from their campus at Central Connecticut State University and all over the globe.

Submissions tend to be open in the Summer through the end of October and again in the Winter until mid-March.

Fogged Clarity | Publishing Opportunity

Part of what we do here at The Reverie Journal is to tell you about opportunities to share your work. Of course, we certainly hope you’ll still consider submitting with us for our Write for Us. Submissions for the magazine and anthology are currently closed.

Today we’d like to introduce you to Fogged Clarity. “Foggy Clarity examines the work of authors, artists, scholars, and musicians providing a home for exceptional art and thought that warrants exposure.”

Four quarterly issues are released online throughout the year: July 1st, October 1st, January 1st & April 1st. Submissions are accepted year around. Submission guidelines are available here.

From their site:

The reading period for Abraxas #49 will be the month of January 2014. We welcome submissions of seven to ten poems, postmarked January 1 – 31. Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope. No electronic submissions, please. Contributors will receive a copy of Abraxas #49 and a 40% discount on additional copies.

We are interested in poetry that attends to language, rhythm, and music, and have a particular interest in the lyric mode. However, we are open to all forms.
